It's certainly a job for younger folk!! How are the poultry doing? I remember how poorly our chickens fared in high temperatures. At this moment the thermometer outside our front door is registering 38 degrees.:(<br />Your customers obviously think very highly of you both and we certainly do too. Know that whatever happens this year, I'll still be a CSA member next year. Just know how much you and Micheal are appreciated. As a single, retired senior, I thought at first my half share was still perhaps too much for me to handle. I am so glad I did not give up on the challenge of discovering the wonderful selection of vegetables, how to prepare them in a variety of recipes and the joy of early freezing for winter. My recipe binder now matches seasonal vegetables and I have learned to get those extras into something for the winter freezer before the fall harvest rush. The taste of the vegetables when freezing (I do a quick blanch and vacuum pack my leftovers) has proven to be almost as marvellous as the day they came home. We will definitely be back as shareholders next year because we think that CSA farming is so important for our communities and our environment. Whatever we can do to encourage to persevere, we will do it! And by the way I am glad to hear that you have been able to save the beets because you have the best beets!
